The Flags
The Rising Sun Flag was the military flag of Japan. It was used by the Imperial Army , and The Imperial Japanese Navy until the end of World War 2. The flag's name is said to come from a nickname of Japan that has been intact since the Seventh Century. The second Flag is the National Flag of Japan
Human Instinct or Society?Japan is not the First thing that comes to mind when i think of World War 1. Some may ask why they were even a part of the war to begin with. I believe that Japan entered the war purely on the human istinct for revenge and personal advancement. As we see in many alliances it is not usually based on a simple fact such as "Oh, I like you so I am going to help you". There are many things involved, with usually some type of gain for those on both sides. In my opinion Japan entered the war with an ulterior motive that was not just about promoting good will with Great Britain.Part of the Reason why they entered the war was having the chance to exact Revenge on Germany. Another Reason was because of the opportunity it presented to advance in the world as a major power. It would also help them expand their sphere of influence in Mainland China. With winning the First Sino-Japanese War China had to give Japan a large section of the Liaodong Peninsula that included the town of Port Arthur thait of which was underlined in in the peace settlement of Shimonoseki. Russia, France and Germany didn't like this because their own interests in the area so they "politely suggested" that Japan return the land over to China. Japan did give it over for monetary compensation but the experience was humiliating....and embittering.

Who They BlamedWhen I think about it Japan did'nt really have anyone to blame because they had multiple reasonings as to why they even got involved. From one point of vier you could say that Germany was to blame for their entry into the war because of the Laiodong Peninsula, and Port Arthur situation. Another person might say that it was Britains fault for entry into the war because they were the first ones to iniate contact with Japan about the subject. From my stand point I say that the only ones to blame at this point were the Japanese themselves. They did not stick you their original agreement with Britian, which would have made them nuetral unless attacked by a third party. But then again they for the most part got what they wanted from entering the war so I doubt that it really matter.
